Sedition charges on Dera Sacha Suda chief's aides
Chandigarh: The two main aides of Dera Sacha Suda Chief Baba Ram Rahim, Aditya Insan and Dhiman Insan were booked for sedition charges by Haryana Police on Sunday. According to the Haryana DGP B.S. Sandhu, both key aides Dera head were booked for inciting violence and would soon be arrested.
Seven security guards of the Dera chief, including four police personnel, have also been arrested under Arms Act and various sections of the IPC including rioting, unlawful assembly, and disobedience to order duly promulgated by the public servant. After the Haryana government claimed that it has the interception of the messages given by the Dera Sacha Sauda instigating and inciting its followers gathered at Panchkula, the Punjab and Haryana high court has asked the state government to submit the reports of interception of the messages given by the Dera in a sealed cover.
Giving details of the prevailing law and order situation in the state, Mr Sandhu said that a curfew was in force only in the district of Sirsa. He added that there is peace across the state and that the top priority of the Haryana police is maintaining security. Mr Sandhu also assured that police protection would be provided to the media and that the police is prepared to handle any mob situations.
