In MP, candidates polish shoe, sweep courtyards

Bhopal: Come elections, weird ideas strike politicians when they hit streets to woo voters.

They take recourse to all kind of tricks to draw attention of their constituents, like shining shoes and sweeping courtyards of voters and even touch their feet , “for their blessings”.

Rasthriya Ajman Party (RAP) candidate from Bhopal Sharad Singh Kumar has found an innovative way to promote his election symbol “shoe” as well as him before the voters by shining their foot wears. “I took advantage of my election symbol to draw attention of the voters, by kneeling down before them and polishing their shoes before begging them to give me their precious votes,” Mr Kumar said on Tuesday.

An independent candidate was seen sweeping courtyards of the houses of voters in his area to impress them and get their sympathy as well as their votes.

Similarly, Congress MLA and MP PCC working vice-president Jitu Patwari, who is seeking re-elections from Rau Assembly constituency in Indore district, has never forgotten to touch feet of the elders during his door-to-door campaign.
