India, Singapore likely to sign navy agreement

It will result in mutual logistics support and more joint, multilateral and live-firing exercises, particularly in the Andaman Sea.

New Delhi: To boost to Indian naval capabilities in south-east Asian region around the Indian Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India and Singapore could ink an agreement on Wednesday boosting mutual logistics support and live-firing exercises in the Andaman Sea. Singapore’s defence minister Ng Eng Hen on Tuesday said, “Navy agreement is significant. It will result in mutual logistics support and more joint, multilateral and live-firing exercises, particularly in the Andaman Sea.”
