Covid-19: Maharashtra total case count breaches 200 mark

Two deaths of middle-aged patients confirmed as Covid-19 fatalities

Mumbai: Maharashtra’s corona positive count jumped by 22 on Sunday, taking the total to 203, which includes 34 positives who were cured and discharged after the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

The state’s corona toll too spurted to eight with two patients who had died in different hospitals on Saturday testing positive for the virus Covid-19 today.

The two fatalities confirmed as Covid-19 positive were both in their forties, one a 40-year-old woman who died at the KEM Hospital after a bout of severe breathlessness and chest pain, and other a 48-year-old man with a history of diabetes who died in Buldhana.

Both were tested for coronavirus after their death, and the reports received on Sunday confirmed Covid-19 infection. Health authorities are now tracing their contacts and isolating their immediate family members.

The fresh positive cases that were detected today included ten from Mumbai, five from Pune, three from Nagpur, two Ahmednagar and one each from Sangli, Buldhana and Jalgaon.
