Nabha jailbreak case: KLF chief was in touch with Pakistan handlers
NEW DELHI: The Delhi police special cell on Tuesday claimed that a diary, which has been seized from the possession of Khalistan Liberation Force chief Harminder Singh Mintoo, has several Pakistani numbers of his handlers based in the country. He was also planning escape to Germany to revive KLF activities in India. They added that Mintoo was regularly in touch with the users of these numbers during his stay in Punjab’s Nabha jail from where he escaped along with five others on Sunday.
“The diary has scribbled phone numbers and he told us that he was in touch with those using them and based in Lahore and other cities. We are further questioning him if he had any specific instructions from across the border and whether the jailbreak was also a move in that direction,” said a senior police officer. Asked if these alleged handlers were from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the officer said Mintoo has told them thar he was in touch with several persons and the exact profiles of each one of them was yet to be ascertained. He added that all these claims were also being verified.
