Bihar rapes: CBI to send forensic and medic team

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar recently directed the state officials to hand over the case to the CBI.

New Delhi: The CBI, probing the alleged abuse of minor girls at a shelter home in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, has decided to send a team of medical and forensic experts to the shelter home.

“The agency will soon send a team of medical and forensic experts to the shelter home. The experts will meet the victims as well as doctors and will also analyse the medical reports of the victims,” sources in the agency said. The total number of minor girls sexually abused at the shelter home has increased to 34.

The CBI has taken over the investigation into the alleged abuse of minor girls at the shelter home. Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar recently directed the state officials to hand over the case to the CBI.

“The CM has directed the state chief secretary, home secretary and director general of police to hand over the case to CBI,” said the Bihar government in a statement issued after the CM’s direction.
