Congress asks PM Modi to respond to its questions

He was referring to Mr Modi's assertions that he is not a bhagidar' in any defence deal but in the pain of the poor.

Lucknow: The Congress, on Monday, asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stop indulging in ‘theatrics’ and respond directly to questions on the Rafale deal.

UPCC president Raj Babbar, on Monday, said, “Now the Prime Minister has been exposed on the Rafale deal, he is using all excuses to evade a direct answer”.

He was referring to Mr Modi’s assertions that he is not a ‘bhagidar’ in any defence deal but in the pain of the poor.

Referring to Mr Modi’s statement that Amar Singh knew about leaders who met industrialists behind closed doors, Mr Babbar said, “A ‘bi-mar bechara’(poor chap) was presented as a witness before industrialists who had gathered for an event here on Sunday”.

He said, the question remains as to why the deal was taken away from HAL, a government und-ertaking, and given to a private company floated just 15 days before by someone who has no experience into even a bicycle business.
