: Andhra Pradesh that was bifurcated almost two years ago to make way for another new state — Telangana — has defeated the highly-publicised state of Gujarat on Centre’s ease of doing business chart.

The state of Telangana has clinched a tie with Andhra Pradesh with both the states scoring a staggering 98.78 per cent on the parameter that promotes business-friendly environment in country.

The statistics released by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) puts Gujarat at number 3 slot with 98.21 per cent scores.

Earlier, Gujarat was placed at number 1 position for facilitating a business friendly environment.

Interestingly, Chhattisgarh that was years ago carved out of Madhya Pradesh has come on fourth position defeating Madhya Pradesh that has been given fifth position, according to the DIPP data.
