With the Budget Session of Bihar Legislative Assembly commencing from Thursday, the Opposition parties on Wednesday met governor Ram Nath Kovind with a request to include the issue of growing lawlessness and murders of political leaders into his address to legislatures.

Releasing a statement, former deputy chief minister of Bihar and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said, “We met the governor and requested him to include the issue of lawlessness and series of murders into his address. We informed him about the condition of the state and have also submitted a memorandum”.

BJP leader Nand K. Yadav said, “We will raise the issue of government’s failure on the Floor of the House.”

Sushil Kumar Modi also criticised the government for trying to avoid questions related to developmental issues. He said the government is trying avoiding a debate on health during the budget session “as the portfolio of the department is with Lalu Yadav’s son (Tej PrataP Yadav) and he is shy of giving speeches”

Referring to rape case of a minor girl in which RJD legislator Raj Ballabh Yadav is an accused and has been evading arrest Sushil Kumar Modi said, “Such is the clout of the accused RJD legislator that he has been giving dates for his surrender. Even after eighteen days he has not been arrested and now even the family of the victim has started feeling that police is soft on the legislator”.

Indicating disruption of the state assembly NDA leaders said, “The situation has worsened after Nitish Kumar joined hands with Lalu Yadav.
