Bihar teen murder: Rocky in 2-day police remand
The investigation in the much-talked-about Aditya murder case gained steam on Wednesday with a court sending the main accused, Rocky Yadav, to police remand for two days. The court had on Tuesday sent him to 14 days’ judicial custody.
The police believes that taking him on remand “will further help in the investigation”. The cops have hinted that the interrogation will be based on the confessional statement he had given after his arrest to the police on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the excise department on Wednesday sealed the residence of his mother, ruling JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi, and also launched an intensive manhunt for her arrest.
Several bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor were recovered during a raid on Tuesday to arrest Rocky Yadav. According to an excise department official, “Possessing liquor is an offence under the new excise law in Bihar. The recovery of liquor bottles from her house is evidence enough to prove that liquor laws were violated.”
On Tuesday, the JD(U) had suspended Ms Devi from the party for “concealing evidence and trying to help a murder suspect escape from the police dragnet”.
Ms Devi has been on the run ever since she was suspended from the party. The police also filed an FIR against her under the child labour act after an underage boy was found working as a domestic help in the house.
“We are trying to find out more details in this connection from the child and labour department has been asked to take the necessary steps in this connection,” Gaya district magistrate Kumar Ravi said.
