Asserting that there was no difference of opinion in the Central government on dealing with insurgency in the Northeast, security sources said Union home minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval, and the chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee, Mr R.N. Ravi, were unanimous in their views on dealing with insurgency. Security sources said the home ministry has decided to review the law and order scenario in Assam in July and that Mr Rajnath Singh may be present. Security sources in the home ministry, however, clarified that Mr Singh’s visit has not yet been finalised.
