A bizarre incident happened in AP's Krishna district, where a man allegedly chopped off his wife's legs over the sale of a buffalo.

Krishna: A bizarre incident has come to light in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district, where a man allegedly chopped off his wife's legs after an argument broke out between the two over the sale of a buffalo.

G Picchaiah, a resident of Lingalapadu village in Krishna district, entered into a quarrel with his wife Rajeswari on Tuesday night over the sale of a buffalo. In a fit of rage, Picchaiah picked up an axe and chopped off his wife's legs, police said.

Narrating the incident, their daughter said: “My parents are not happy in their marital life. Last night, they both had a huge brawl over the sale of a buffalo. Later, my mother soaked an axe in water as my father asked her to do so. Later in the night, I heard my mother scream and when I woke up I saw that both her legs were chopped off by my father."

"My mother wanted us to shift to Keesara near her brother's place. But my father didn't accept the proposal," she added.

Rajeswari is being treated at Nandigama hospital.

Police have lodged an FIR and the accused has been detained.
