Lucknow: Crime against women in Uttar Pradesh continue to make headlines despite the state government seeking death for rape accused.

On Thursday, a rerun of the Kathua rape case was seen in Siddhartha Nagar district where a six-year-old girl was raped and around the same time, a 35-year-old woman was subjected to gangrape by her own father and his two frie-nds in Sitapur district.

In the first incident, a six-year-old girl stepped out of her house to watch a wedding procession in a village in Siddhartha Nagar. She was lured by the accused into a nearby field where she was raped.

The girl was later found lying unconscious in fields by the local people.

In the second incident,  a 35-year-old woman told the police that her father and his two friends raped her.

The victim has a son and was living with her father after she divorced her husband.

ASP Martand Prakash Singh said that one of the accused has been arrested but the father and another accused are absconding.
