Girl slaps conductor of bus for obscenity

Bhubaneswar: An Odisha girl slapped a bus conductor for “inappropriately” touching her and some other girls as they were returning from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar on Sunday, in the pretext of making way for other passengers.

Hailing from Bhubaneswar, the girl told media persons that she protested the misconduct. The conductor allegedly assaulted her physically, prompting her to slap him on the face. The girl also took to Facebook to narrate her ordeal against misbehaviour of the conductor.

“On June 18, after waiting for a bus for long near Badambadi bus terminus in Cuttack, I had boarded a bus that was already packed to the capacity. There was no space to stand properly inside the vehicle,” the girl mentioned in her post. “The conductor was reaching other girls and touching them inappropriately in a bid to make some space in the bus. I got furious when the conductor intentionally tried and touched me in the same manner and I slapped him,’’ the post read. She said that fellow passengers, especially the elderly men, supported her action.
