Bhopal: Killing of BJP leaders continued unabated in Madhya Pradesh.
In a ghastly incident, a local BJP worker in Gwalior district was killed brutally.
Body of Chhattar Singh Rawat was recovered on the river bank of Parvati in the village of Lash under Belgadha police limit early on Monday morning, police said.
“The deceased had gone missing since Sunday. His family members filed a missing report in the local police station when he failed to return from his duty on Sunday evening.
His body was recovered on Monday morning on the river bank.
It appeared he was attacked with sharp weapons leading to his death, a senior district police officer told this newspaper unwilling to be quoted. He was a bus conductor.
The deceased was the brother of president of Gwalior district (rural) unit of BJP Narendra Rawat.
He was the third BJP leader killed in the last five days in MP.
Earlier on Sunday, a local BJP leader in Barwani district was brutally murdered with his head crushed with a boulder by unidentified assailants.
Body of the deceased, Manoj Thakere, was found in an agriculture land close to his village under Warla police station.
On Thursday evening, local civic body chief and senior BJP leader Prallhad Bandhwar was shot dead by a youth in the district headquarters of Mandsaur.
The accused was arrested on Saturday in Rajasthan.
