Now, SP leader accused of raping 15-year-old

Lucknow: Another incident of rape of a minor has been reported from Unnao district and the alleged accused, this time, is SP leader Birendra Yadav.

The 15-year-old rape victim has recorded her statement in front of the superintendent of police in Unnao and accused SP leader Birendra Yadav and his friends of raping her.

The alleged victim told the police that a man promising her a job and then handed her over to SP leader Birendra Yadav who raped her for several days.

The accused then sent her over to her father in Kanpur. The girl alleged that her father, too, harassed her and tried to dissuade her from lodging a complaint.

The Unnao police has booked three people for gangrape. The police has also booked the girl’s father for helping the accused. “The matter is being investigated and we will take further action soon,” said a senior police official.This is the second such incident reported from Unnao. Earlier this month, a BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar was accused of raping a minor girl and his brother Atul Sengar was charged with the custodial death of the girl’s father.  The matter is being investigated by the CBI.
