Rajasthan: One-year-old dies of choking, parents blame each other for infant's muder

36-year-old Maya also charged his husband Devendra of killing infant and registered a police complaint against him.

Jaipur: In a mystery incident a one-year-old boy was found dead at his home in Pali district of Rajasthan. Parents of the infant not only accused each other of murdering the baby boy over a martial conflict but also registered an FIR against each other, according to Hindustan Times reports.

The father of infant Devendra Singhadiya said in the complaint that he was out for Sunday's morning walk, but reaching home, he found that their one-year-old boy was not breathing while lying on a bed. He also stated in an FIR that it took his wife Maya more than usual time to open the door.

After seeing his son in an unstable condition, Singhadiya immediately took the boy to a hospital, where doctors declared him 'brought dead', according to the FIR. Moreover, by evening 36-year-old Maya also charged his husband Devendra of killing the infant and registered a police complaint against him.

Devendra, a 40-year-old engineer, married to Maya two years ago.

“Prima facie, it appears that Granth was murdered. Doctors in their initial opinion said that the infant died of choking and that fingerprints were also found on his neck,” station house officer of Odyogik Kshetra police station Kishore Singh Bhati told Hindustan Times.

“We have not recorded the statement of the mother yet. She is under mental stress,” Bhati said.

“Devendra alleged that Maya had been harassing his parents for the last two months and that because of her they could not celebrate Granth’s first birthday. Relations between them were not good,” Bhati said.

“We have some clues and an investigation is on. The culprit will be arrested soon,” he added.
