MP rape: Accused convicted in 10 days

A minor girl was abducted and then gang raped by four youths in Dhamnod in the district on February 4.

Bhopal: A local court in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district has pronounced verdict in a gangrape case sentencing three accused to life imprisonment and the other to three years in jail, in a record ten days.

A minor girl was abducted and then gang raped by four youths in Dhamnod in the district on February 4.

The special additional session’s judge in the district Harisharan Yadav delivered judgment in the case on Wednesday, 36 days after police filed the charge-sheet. The case was disposed of by the court within ten working days.

While the accused, Sanjay Choudhury, Akhilesh and Mahadev Patidar, were sentenced to life imprisonment, the other accused, Mahendra Patidar was sentenced to three years in jail. The father of the rape victim expressed satisfaction over delivery of speedy justice.
