Jaipur: Two seven-year-old girls were raped in Rajasthan on Saturday. One of the victims was killed after the rape, the police said on Sunday.
The body of a seven-year-old was discovered in Jhalawar on Saturday evening, while another was raped in Rid village in Nagaur district.
In the first rape incident, the accused, Kanaram, a daily wage labourer, was caught by villagers and handed over to the police. The girl is undergoing treatment in Ajmer.
Makrana police station SHO Gomaram said that the victim’s father filed an FIR in which he alleged that Kanaram lured his daughter on pretext of buying her sweets while she was returning home from school. However, he took her to a nearby enclosure and raped her. Her parents took her to a hospital, where she was referred to Ajmer as her condition deteriorated.
When the villagers came to know about the incident, they caught hold of Kanaram and handed him over to the police. A case has been registered under Pocso Act on complaint filed by her father.

Her family had approached the police with a missing complaint.
Jhalawar’s SP Anand Sharma sad that five teams have been constituted for this case. “I have formed five teams to work on the case. Also, FSL team from Kota and a dog squad from Jaipur has been called to find clues about the culprit, the SP said.
