Mounting an attack on the BJP after reports of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar being beaten up by lawyers in the custody of the Delhi police, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said “the incident shows that there is jungle raj in Delhi”.

Mr Kumar, while criticising the BJP for levelling charges of sedition on JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, said that “so far they have not been able to come up with proper evidence against him”. He said that the BJP and the RSS were trying to enforce their ideology on the masses and “at this point all secular parties must unite against such fascist forces”.

While referring to the sting operation which was aired by news channels, he said, “The beating up of Kanhaiya Kumar by lawyers was illegal. Whatever is happening in Delhi shows that they have lost control over the police and there is complete lawlessness and jungle raj in Delhi.”

He said, “The government is trying to hide its failures by raising such issues.”
