Defence minister Manohar Parrikar admitted on Thursday that one lakh retired defence personnel were yet to get the full benefit of the One Rank One Pension (Orop) scheme. There are around 20 lakh retired defence personnel in the country.
There were glitches in the implementation of the scheme, and the government will resolve the issue in two months, he said while addressing Army veterans at Budgam in J&K. Mr Parrikar said the government is sensitive to the Orop issue as it was not implemented in the last 43 years.
