I never had money to buy movie tickets: Lalu Prasad Yadav
Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan who was in Patna on Thursday to promote his upcoming movie Madari interviewed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
During the closed-door one-to-one interview with Irrfan, the RJD chief revealed that yesteryear actress Vyjayanthimala Bali was his favourite and he used to watch her movies regularly during his younger days.
“I was a huge fan of Vyjayanthimala and used watch her movies while sitting on “dari” (carpet) as I never had money to buy tickets,” he said, adding, “I met her for the first time in Parliament”.
When told that Hema Malini was one of the co-actors in the movie, Mr Yadav said he was impressed by her acting. “If Irrfan plans to make a movie on me I will be the hero of the movie as I feel that no one better than me,” Mr Yadav told the media after the interview.
The RJD chief also slammed the NDA government at the Centre for not fulfilling poll promises. “You ask me about failures in fulfilling poll promises, we keep raising the issue as we feel that the promises made by the present government to bring acche din for people of this country has not yet been fulfilled,” he said.
“Rising prices of essential commodities has affected the day-to-day life of people of this country,” he added.
Mr Yadav, who had earlier advocated Nitish Kumar’s “Sangh Mukt” statement, during his interview on Thursday, said, “They (BJP) came to power because political parties in the country were divided.” The interview was later uploaded on Facebook by Irrfan Khan.
