Suspended Trinamul Congress Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh on Sunday sent copies of a letter to party’s disciplinary committee convenor Partha Chatterjee and general secretary Mukul Roy, including chief minister Mamata Banerjee, requesting the party leaders to revoke its decision to suspend him for his “anti-party activities.” Mr Ghosh also said that he has sent a “personal letter” to Ms Banerjee but did not want to disclose the contents. The rebel MP was recently served a showcause notice by party leadership for making anti-party statements. On Saturday, the MP was suspended from the party. Even after the suspension, Mr Ghosh said he would stick to the issues he had raised against the Trinamul Congress leadership and wanted an opportunity to express his views. Brushing aside the speculation that he received a showcause notice as stated by some party leaders, he claimed that till now he has not received any such notice. “I have written three separate letters to chief minister Mamata Banerjee, disciplinary committee convener Partha Chatterjee and general secretary Mukul Roy. I have requested them to revoke the suspension order,” Mr Ghosh said. “I have also mentioned in the letter that I will stick to the issues that I have raised,” the MP added.
