An employee of the Telegraph newspaper, Rak-esh Kumar Singh, was atta-cked and forcibly abducted, while he was returning home from his office late Friday night in Patna.

According to Mr Singh, the incident occurred when his office cab collided with another vehicle which was coming from the wrong direction. He said after the accident he was pulled out of the car and badly beaten by four persons. He was later dragged into their vehicle where they continued to beat him for two hours.

“They kept beating me for two hours and also threatened to kill me if I raised an alarm or reported the matter,” Rakesh Kumar Singh, distribution manager of the English daily, said. He added that his ATM card and wallet was also snatched by them.

Mr Singh was later thrown out of the vehicle near the Patna Railway Station. “An FIR has been registered in this connection and the vehicle has also been recovered,” the police said.

We will soon nab those involved in the incident,” Patna SSP Manu Maharaj said. Employees of the newspaper who met police officials on Saturday said that their plea to register the case and find the criminals went unheard as the local Shastri Nagar police station didn’t immediately act.
