Nitish termed his ‘Sangh-mukt India (Sangh-free India)’ statement as his own political view
Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar stepped up his offensive against the RSS on Monday by accusing them of trying to divide the country with their ideology and confusing people by spreading rumours.
Terming his “Sangh-mukt India (Sangh-free India)” statement as his own political view, he said he just floated an idea for parties opposed to the RSS and BJP to come together on one platform.
“Their (RSS) ideology cannot benefit the nation, therefore it is necessary for all anti-BJP forces to unite on one platform,” he said.
On Saturday, Mr Nitish Kumar had given a call to all like-minded secular political parties to unite and fight against the ideology of the RSS.
“To save democracy in the country it is necessary for all anti-BJP forces to unite and make India Sangh-mukt,” he had said. His statement had created turmoil within the BJP which led the RSS to react sharply against the Bihar CM.
While talking to reporters in Patna after his Janata Ka Darbar Mein Mukhya Mantri programme on Monday, Mr Nitish
Kumar said, “They know what will happen to them if anti-BJP forces unite on one platform, that is why they are reacting like this.”
Mounting an attack against the BJP and RSS for trying to divert attention after failing to fulfil poll promises, he said, “They are trying to divert issues by doing divisive politics and spreading rumours. Their ideology is to divide society,” adding, “Despite being a coalition partner of the BJP earlier I never compromised on principles and ideology.”
