PM to mantris: ‘Expose’ Opposition
In the face of repeated stalling of parliamentary proceedings by the Opposition Congress during the Winter Session, the NDA ministers have been asked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to project all the good work done by the Centre in the last 18 months in their respective constituencies.
This, according to sources privy to the developments, would not only automatically expose the Opposition’s disruptive tactics, but at the same time is also being seen as part of preparation by the government for Good Governance Day, which would be observed on December 25, the birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
These directions were given to the entire council of ministers, which met Mr Modi at his residence on Thursday evening over tea. Apart from Union ministers, ministers of state were also present during the meeting, which was more of a “pep talk” by the Prime Minister.
The ministers, sources aware of the proceedings said, were asked to make people aware about all the welfare measures taken by the government till date since it came to power in May 2014. Apart from this, the ministers were also asked to list out the initiatives of their respective ministries before the people.
During the almost-90-minute meeting, the ministers were apparently told by the PM not to get overtly perturbed by the Opposition’s disruptionary tactics within the Parliament, and instead focus on their work.
The ministers were asked to also give appropriate time to the various MPs from different constituencies.
