Congress slams RSS call to Muslims to adopt cows

The Opposition had been attacking the Centre over a spurt in cases of cow vigilantism since it came to power.

New Delhi: After RSS leader and patron of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Indresh Kumar, said Muslims should adopt cows and open gaushalas, the Congress on Thursday said that those who never fed fodder to cows were promoting cattle protection.

The group had also asked Muslims to shun eating beef. The Opposition had been attacking the Centre over a spurt in cases of cow vigilantism since it came to power.

The Muslim Rashtriya Manch is holding a two-day meeting in Roorkee, UP, starting Friday, where the Manch could make an appeal to Muslims to adopt cows and open gaushalas.

“Triple talaq” and Ram temple could also be part of the deliberations which would also be attended by Muslim clerics.

Congress’s Randeep Surjewala said, “All those who have become self-proclaimed chiefs, should be asked whether they served even a single cow in their constituency,” he said.
