Modi might be scoring well all over country but not in Andhra: Jagan Mohan Reddy
Hyderabad: YSR Congress party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy gave his ‘report card’ on the five years of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, most of it was “better”, reported NDTV.
Praising Modi, Reddy said PM has shown a stronger will than any other leader and may have done far better, even though in Andhra Pradesh, he is portrayed as someone who betrayed the state by not giving special category status.
"Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) might be scoring well all over the country. Probably, he has exhibited a stronger will than any other prime minister. Maybe he has done far better. But as far as Andhra Pradesh is concerned, he doesn't score well," Reddy said.
In March 2018, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party walked out of the NDA over financial support for Andhra.
The special status would mean a large infusion of central funds to help the stat government’s plans.
Reddy said he would work anybody, as long as Special Category Status is given and promises made in Parliament are fulfilled.
In the general elections, the BJP is going alone in all the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telanaga, which will vote on April 11.
