Akhilesh Yadav accuses BJP of creating rift in SP

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, on Saturday, attacked the BJP for engineering defections in his party.

In his tweet, Mr Yadav said, “Patthar feko, MLC todo”. Later in a brief interaction with reporters on the birth anniversary of late Janeshwar Misra, he said the BJP had only two things to do. “They are either throwing stones or breaking away MLCs. The people are watching all this, and will give a reply in the next elections,” he said.

He further said, “Aam ka season to chala gaya, isliye BJP wale hamare MLC tod rahen hain”. Replying to another question, Mr Yadav said that the BJP was getting aware of the changing public mood. 

“That is why, despite having over 300 MLAs, they cannot gather the courage to face the electorate and are trying to get into the legislative council,” said the SP president.

The Samajwadi Party, during the past one week, lost three MLCs who resigned and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
