BJP leader held for sharing Revanna sex videos

Bengaluru: BJP leader and advocate G. Devaraje Gowda found himself in the eye of a storm after being arrested in connection with the release of an explicit sex video purportedly involving Hassan JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna. The arrest took place at the Gulihal tollgate by the Hiriyur police in the district on Friday night, following a tip-off received by the Hassan police.

According to police sources, Devaraje Gowda was apprehended for allegedly leaking the controversial video stored in a pen drive. This incident unfolded amidst the backdrop of multiple explicit videos circulating involving Prajwal, just ahead of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka held on April 26.

Prajwal Revanna, the MP in question and the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, is currently evading arrest, prompting Interpol to issue a 'blue corner' notice against him. Three FIRs, including serious charges such as rape, molestation, intimidation, blackmailing, and threatening, have been lodged against Prajwal.

Devaraje Gowda stands accused of disseminating these videos, an allegation he vehemently denies. Notably, he was a contender in the 2023 Assembly elections, where he contested against JD(S) MLA from Holenarasipura, H.D. Revanna, who happens to be Prajwal's father. Presently, H.D. Revanna is in judicial custody on charges related to the alleged kidnapping of a woman, who is a mother of three.
