Opposition is a Virtual Alliance, Doing Virtual Meetings: Nadda

Nadda asserted that the Opposition parties only had a two-point agenda focused on saving their families and properties

New Delhi: BJP president J.P. Nadda took a swipe at the Opposition parties who are trying to resolve the seat-sharing issue for the Lok Sabha election by saying it is a virtual alliance that is doing virtual meetings as a mere formality. Nadda asserted that they only had a two-point agenda focused on saving their families and properties.

Addressing the meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) to launch 'Namo Navmatdata Abhiyan' aimed at connecting with first-time voters, Nadda highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to developing India, empowering the youth, farmers, and women, and eradicating poverty. In contrast, he claimed that the Opposition's primary objective was "removing Modi."

Nadda revealed the party's goal of registering 1 crore new voters by January 25, National Voters' Day, coinciding with Modi's address to its members. He took a jab at Opposition leaders, including the late M. Karunanidhi and Parkash Singh Badal, suggesting their concerns about their children's political future. Nadda specifically targeted Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, Farooq Abdullah, and M.K. Stalin.

Accusing most Opposition leaders of facing CBI or ED cases, Nadda alleged corruption and misuse of probe agencies. Referring to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, he pointed out that both are on bail. Nadda emphasised Modi's transformative politics with the mantra of "sabka saath, sabka vikas," leaving the Opposition without substantial issues.

Nadda noted Modi's identification of the poor, youth, farmers, and women as the four biggest castes. He mocked the Opposition, claiming they are unable to decide on issues to raise, as Modi has shifted the conventional approach by focusing on development rather than divisive tactics based on religion and caste.

In a veiled criticism of Rahul Gandhi, Nadda mentioned the sudden attention to issues related to the Other Backward Classes, highlighting that it was Modi who worked towards their empowerment. He urged youngsters to stay politically aware, emphasising the importance of understanding what is good and bad in the political landscape.

Nadda praised India's youthful population as an asset and a source of energy for the country. He pointed to the rise in the number of IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, and other institutions as evidence of the transformation the country has undergone under the Modi government, providing increased opportunities for the youth.
