Shiv Sena UBT slams PM's road show in Mumbai
Mumbai: The Shiv Sena UBT on Wednesday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to himself come out to the streets as the sign of his defeat. The party said that the “400 paar” slogan has failed and the NDA is not going to win a simple majority in the 2024 election.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut denouncing BJP leaders as “election mafias” and questioned the timing of PM Modi’s road show in Mumbai. He claimed that the Shiv Sena (UBT) and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have forced the Prime Minister to come on the streets of Mumbai. “Due to fear of defeat, the BJP has roped Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold his rally at every nook and corner. We are contesting on six Lok Sabha seats of Mumbai. Since we have determined to win all six seats, Modi has been camping extensively,” he said.
Calling Mr. Modi a liar, the Shiv Sena UBT leader said the country does not need such a liar. “The entire Mumbai was shut down for Modi’s road show. He has held 28 election rallies in Maharashtra. But let him hold as many road shows and rallies, Maharashtra will never stand behind him. Wherever he is holding rallies, the BJP and its alliance partners are losing. This is decided by the people. BJP is losing the battle here. PM Modi fears losing the elections that is why he is campaigning everywhere,” Mr. Raut said.
Referring to the incident of billboard collapse on Monday that led to deaths of 14 people, the Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson said the PM is holding a road show in the same area. “They (BJP leaders) just have to contest the elections and get ahead of the elections at any cost. They are election mafias,” he said.
Another Shiv Sena UBT leader Chandrakant Khaire, who is also the party’s candidate from Aurangabad (Sambhajinagar) constituency, said it was a tragedy for the BJP that the PM has to campaign for them everywhere. “The PM is holding the roadshow because the BJP is losing. In Mumbai, there is a sympathy wave for Uddhav Thackeray and there is curiosity about Maha Vikas Aghadi. It is a foregone conclusion that Shiv Sena UBT and MVA are winning in Maharashtra. PM’s roadshows and rallies will not make any difference,” he said.
