AMMK releases 1st list of 24 candidate for LS polls

Dhinakaran's AMMK announced its first list of 24 candidates for 24 Lok Sabha seats and 9 byelection seats for the upcoming elections.

Chennai: TTV Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam(AMMK) on Sunday announced its first list of 24 candidates for 24 Lok Sabha seats and nine byelection seats for the upcoming elections.

The prominent leaders list for the Lok Sabha seats include – Sarubala Thondaiman will contest from Trichy while former Assembly Speaker K. Kalimuthu’s son K. David Annadurai from Madurai, Former Law minister Isakki Subbiah for South Chennai, retired IAS officer M. Ramasami will field from Nilgiris, former MLAs N. Ganapathy from Villupuram, S.K. Selvam for Salem, Pon Raja from Tiruvallur and M. Rajasekaran for Perambalur. While P Vetrivel to contest from Perumbavoor in bypolls.

The legislators who were earlier disqualified have also been nominated to contest from nine constituencies where by-elections will be held.

Lok Sabha elections and assembly bypolls would be held in Tamil Nadu on April 18 in the second phase of the seven-phased elections. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
