Congress, JD-S MLAs herded in bus to Hyderabad
Bengaluru: Denied permission to board a chartered flight from HAL airport to Kochi Thursday night by the Director General of Civil Aviation reportedly on technical grounds , Congress and JD(S) legislators boarded a night bus to Hyderabad, where they were escorted by the Telangana police to a five star hotel.
Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, who was kept in the loop of things, is said to have made arrangements for the police to escort them from the border to the hotel in Hyderabad. Instead of taking the usual Ballari Road to Hyderabad, the legislators took a deviation to Hindupur where they were met by the police , sources said.
The legislators will fly back to Bengaluru Saturday morning to be present in Vidhana Soudha when Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa attempts to prove his majority on the floor of the House. Going by sources, on their return, the legislators will be lodged in a city hotel before leaving for Vidhana Soudha.
Meanwhile, both the Congress and JD(S) are said to be anxious over the Governor’s decision to appoint BJP leader, K.G. Bopaiah the pro-term Speaker, but have advised the legislators to keep calm until the entire process is completed.
