Tej Pratap terms scuffle with media as 'conspiracy to kill me'

In the video, a man is seen being thrashed by guards as windscreen of Yadav's car was broken.

Patna: Dismissing the video evidence in which his security guards could be seen thrashing a journalist in Patna on Sunday, Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) rebel leader Tej Pratap Yadav has termed the incident as a conspiracy to kill him.

In the video, a man was seen being thrashed by security guards as he allegedly broke the windscreen of Yadav’s car when the politician reached the polling station to vote.

"My guards have not done anything. I was leaving after casting my vote when a photographer hit the windscreen of my car. I have filed an FIR in the incident. A conspiracy is being hatched to kill me," Yadav told reporters.

Yadav has been unhappy with the party for not giving Lok Sabha tickets to the people of his choice.

Yadav, son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, has formed a new political front “Lalu-Rabri Morcha” and threatened to field separate candidates in the election.

Yadav is also in news because of his differences with his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav who is the RJD's leader in the ongoing election.

May 19 is the last phase of the seven-phased election. Polls are being held in seven seats of Bihar.
