BJP confident of winning UP byelection

Sikandara by-election, polling for which will be held on December 21, has been necessitated following the death of BJP MLA Mathura Pal.

Lucknow: After its victory in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, the BJP is set to continue its winning streak in Uttar Pradesh before the year ends.

“We are going to win the assembly by-elections in Sikandara in Kanpur Dehat with a greater margin. The opposition does not stand a chance and we have proved it again and again,” deputy chief minister Keshav Maurya told said on Tuesday.

The Sikandara by-election, polling for which will be held on December 21, has been necessitated following the death of BJP MLA Mathura Pal in July.
