Modi: Values in public life eroding

I see that people in public life are giving speeches in support of corruption and black money.

New Delhi: Attacking political rivals for criticising the government’s demonetisation move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lamented that moral values had degraded to such an extent that people in public life are brazenly supporting corruption and black money.

Speaking during the release of a book on the late veteran BJP leader Kedarnath Sahni, Mr Modi also took a swipe at the erstwhile Congress dispensation during the situation prevailing in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination in 1984, when he recalled how Mr Sahni gave shelter to numerous Sikh families at his home during the anti-Sikh riots, “despite the attitude of the then government”.
