Will jointly corner Yogi govt in Assembly: Opposition
Lucknow: The brief Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly from Monday is likely to be a stormy one with the Opposition deciding to jointly corner the Yogi government on various issues.
Though the Monsoon Session began on Thursday, the House adjourned after paying tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The session, in the real sense of the term, will begin on Monday when chief minister Yogi Adityanath tables supplementary budget proposals to the tune of around Rs 40,000 crore on August 27.
“There is no dearth of issues from the Deoria shelter home scam to the murders of priests in Auraiyya, the Hapur lynching incident and murders in various districts — the government will have to do a great deal of explaining on these issues,” said Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary.
Congress legislature party leader Ajay Kumar Lallu said flood conditions had worsened in eastern UP and the state government was taking the situation lightly. No relief and rescue work is being undertaken as yet,” he said.
