Note ban has public backing, will help win UP polls: BJP

Demonetisation will have an impact on the coming assembly polls in UP, says Mahendra Singh

Lucknow: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is confident that its demonetisation move will have a positive impact on the party’s fortunes in the upcoming assembly elections in UP. BJP national secretary Mahendra Singh told reporters here on Sunday that demonetisation will have an impact on the coming assembly polls in UP because the common man was supporting the decision and it is only the corrupt leaders, officials and industrialists who are perturbed by the move.

“The BSP and SP appear to be perturbed by the decision and the people are closely watching their panic reaction,” he said.

Mr Singh added that the common people know that BJP has taken this step in accordance with the promise it made during the Lok Sabha election campaign with regard to black money.

Mr Singh said that the massive turnout in the party’s Parivartan Yatras was a clear indication that nothing would prevent the party from forming the next government in UP.
