Rajasthan business ranking belies CM’s claims
Belying chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s claim of Rajasthan getting second rank in ease of doing business, the state continues to acquire the 6th spot in the race. Just three weeks ago, the CM had claimed that the state would get second position.
“We expect to be there at No. 2 when the rankings are finally announced. The industry needs to leverage these advantages,” Ms Raje had said while speaking at the Laghu Udyog Bharati’s industrial fair in Udaipur.
But the state is 3.5% behind topper Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand are the other three states ahead of Rajasthan. From being a toast of the industry, the sharp slide in the ranking would be a setback for the CM who never misses an opportunity to pat her back for ushering in reforms in almost every sphere of the government that attracted huge investment and enabled her to provide nine lakh jobs in just two and half years of her tenure.
