Techie kills 20 to avenge dad’s murder, held
The police has arrested a man who has allegedly killed 20 people to avenge the murder of his father. Avinash Srivastava, a techie turned criminal, was arrested from Mahua area of Vaishali while he was trying to rob a bank.
According to police, in 2003, Avinash pumped 32 bullets into the man involved the murder of his father and then went on a killing spree. He also murdered four out of five persons, one by one, to avenge his father’s death.
Avinash, who was presented before the media after he was arrested, said: “One more person is left to be killed. I will finish the job after I am out of jail.”
During interrogation Avinash told the police that after his father Lallan Srivastava, a former RJD MLC, was murdered by Moin Khan and four others in 2002, he decided to avenge his death. The police said, “The incident turned him into a psycho killer.” After his first murder, he left Bihar to pursue his education from Jamia Milia University and completed his Masters in Computer Application. According to the police, he has even worked as an executive in a top IT company.
The police said Avinash was hardly 20 when he first picked up a gun and has since killed around 20 people. According to Vaishali SP Rakesh Kumar, “Avinash’s arrest will solve several pending murder cases.”
The police, who earlier thought that they had arrested a bank robber red-handed, was in for a shock when Avinash told them during interrogation that he was famous. According to Mr Kumar, Avinash said, “If you want to know about me, just Google ‘psycho killer Amit’ and you will know everything about me.” he said. He also told them that he was arrested in 2013 in Patna.
The police said that several cases of arms act, murder and dacoity cases were pending against him and further investigation will reveal more facts about the crimes he has committed. The police investigating the case also found out that besides being a psychopath, Avinash was also superstitious. He used to wear blue denim shirt and jeans before committing a murder.
“First he took up a weapon to avenge his father’s death but later he made crime his world,” a police official said.
