Trolls invite BJP leaders to try beef
Trolls laughed at BJP's stand on the beef and extended an invite to its president Amit Shah and other national leaders to savour the beef biryani of Kozhikode as the party’s national meet began here on Friday.
The troll with the hashtag #ShahToRahmath invites them to Hotel Rahmath which is famous for beef cuisine here.
“Amit Shah and Modi have that love for ‘Gomatha’ which would dry up after eating the beef biriyani at Rahmath,” one troll said.
Another one advised them to relish ‘Kozhikodan Sulaimani’ (Malabar black tea) along with biryani priced at '100.
Kozhikode is known for its non-veg dishes and the Facebook page ‘Beef Janata Party’ lists out the must-visit restaurants in the city for the saffron leaders.
The same page has mockingly put an imaginary speech of the Prime Minister in Kozhikode that -"he used to sell beef biryani in Kerala as a kid.-"
Another comment goes like this, “Welcome to Kozhikode, the land where a Hindu king (Zamorin) fought a foreign enemy (Portuguese) with a naval force of local Muslims (led by Kunjali Marakkar).”
DYFI leader Mohammed Riyas in his FB post invites them to enjoy food of their choice fearlessly and assures that no one would come and check their plates.
He also took a jibe at Mr Modi saying they would find Kerala is not Somalia.
Mr Modi’s remarks during an election campaign that Kerala was worse than Somalia in infant mortality among tribals had courted controversy.
“This is indeed political activism on the internet. It involves the participation of otherwise apolitical people. There is no abuse, and the protest is creatively sharp,” said V.K. Adarsh, a social media analyst.
