Uttarakhand high court Chief Justice K.M. Joseph is being shifted as chief justice of the high court of judicature in Hyderabad for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad high court acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale is being elevated and posted as chief justice of the Madhya Pradesh HC.

The recommendations made by the collegium headed by Chief Justice of India T.S. Thakur will be processed by the Union law ministry and the transfers will be notified shortly.

Justice Joseph was in the news recently when a bench headed by him quashed President’s Rule in Uttarakhand and chief minister Harish Rawat of the Congress was unseated one day prior to the floor test fixed by the governor. The bench had severely criticised the action of the Union government in recommending President’s Rule in the state. Before his appointment as Uttarakhand high court chief justice on 31 July 2014, he had served as a judge in the Kerala high court for more than nine years.

Justice Bhosle hails from Maharashtra and was appointed as a judge in the Bombay high court in January 2001 and transferred to the Karnataka HC in January 2012.

He was made acting CJ of the Hyderabad high court in May 2015.
