Pakistan expels Bangladesh diplomat

Pakistan on Wednesday ordered a Bangladeshi woman diplomat to leave the country within the next 72 hours.

Pakistan on Wednesday ordered a Bangladeshi woman diplomat to leave the country within the next 72 hours.

Officials said the foreign office issued the order for Bangladeshi diplomat Moushumi Rahman expulsion. Ms Moushumi has been asked to leave on “violation of diplomatic norms.” The move came two weeks after Pakistan recalled its female diplomat from Dhaka after she was accused of unlawful activities, a charge which the foreign office rejected as “baseless.”

Bangladesh and Pakistan have been embroiled in a spat over the trial of 1971 war crimes and many Bangladeshi ministers have blasted Pakistan for allegedly promoting militancy.
