TMC failed on all fronts: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi
The BJP on Friday released a “chargesheet” against the ruling Mamata Banerjee government, saying it has failed on all fronts in its five year rule.
The 15-page booklet recording the failure of the state government is titled Pariborton noy patan-TMC sarkarer byarthata ( No change but Decline — The failures of the Trinamul Congress government).
“In the past five years, West Bengal has been left behind in every field. I demand that chief minister Mamata Banerjee give a list of five achievements of her government,” Union minister of state for parliamentary affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said while releasing the so-called chargesheet.
According to BJP’s chargesheet, there had been unprecedented campus violence in the state in the past five years. It further claims the state topped in atrocities against women. The standard of education and health, it says, has deteriorated drastically in the past five years, it adds.
“From Saradha to Narada, there has been massive corruption and financial scams in which ruling party leaders were found involved,” the booklet says.
Ms Banerjee has persistently lamented that the previous Left Front government had left a legacy of debt burden of Rs 2 lakh crore.
However, the BJP accuses the CM of pushing Bengal into further abyss of debt.
“The debt burden during her five year rule has shot up from Rs 2 lakh crore to Rs 3 lakh crore. Today, every person in the state has a debt of Rs 31,500,” the chargesheet alleges.
In the run up to the Assembly election, the BJP will be distributing this booklet to persuade the people to vote for the saffron party.
