The 45th edition of IIT-B’s cultural extravaganza Mood Indigo came to an exemplary end on Monday as it left students from across the country anticipating the next season of the fest already. With a larger-than-life celebration of a Hawaiian theme this year, the ambience was in consonance with a feel of the island. The LitFest this year was a grand success and hosted stalwarts like Medha Patkar, Justice Katju, Ashwin Sanghi and Dr Shashi Tharoor. The author, diplomat and politician spoke about India in today’s networking world. As expected the session was a full house. While Justice Katju enthralled and enlightened the students on a host of topics ranging from Section 377 to death penalty, Medha Patkar urged students to participate in social causes. Ashwin Sanghi flagged off the Litfest on a high note, where he parted with tips to write a bestseller.

Participants had a field time as they locked horns with rival colleges in various competitions. When asked how different is Mood Indigo from other college fests, Saurabh Mishra from Bharti Vidyapeeth Pune said, “The way IIT-B organises and executes their fest, if our colleges could match up to 30 per cent of it, that would be great for the students as we could enjoy more and waste less time.” Sapna Iyer, another student from BVP, said “We want mentors from IIT-B to help us organise our fests and raise the bar of our college fest,” she said.

Humorfest brought the fest to a grand end with a performance by comedian-actor Vir Das. His one-liners and anecdotes left the audiences in splits. It was one of the highlights on the last day. Towards the evening it was music composer Pritam and his band who enthralled the audience with a melee of Bollywood songs.
