Tisca’s ready for a TV stint
Her last film Ankur Arora Murder Case didn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing, but as always her acting calibre stood out in the medical drama. She is now prominently visible in the trailers of the much-anticipated television series, 24, that is on air now. Tisca Chopra has always let her work speak for her. The actress was in the capital recently for the launch of designer Urvashi Kaur’s A/W’13 collection Fez. “In 24, I play Anil Kapoor’s wife Trisha Rathore, who is a modern, educated woman with a mind of her own. Set in an urban landscape, the couple is undergoing a rough patch in their relationship and as Anil’s character is working on an important mission, he is also trying to mend fences in his personal life,” says Tisca. She is happy that the show is garnering curiosity amidst the television audience. Tisca has also been working hard on her book, Get Your Act Together, a book based on the struggle of newcomers in Bollywood, who fall into the old traps of agents, casting couch and how they end up negotiating on everything. “I am done with the book now. It is going to come out in January 2014. I hope people like my writing style,” she says. The actress is looking forward to the reaction of the desi audience to her film, Qissa: The Tale of Lonely Ghost, an Indian-German drama, in which she stars along with Irrfan Khan. “The film is making international waves and will be screened as a part of the Mumbai International Film Festival. It is an interesting film,” she says. She is also working on the film Rahasya about which she remains tight-lipped, and also a comedy film. Talking about her love for the capital, she adds, “Having spent some of the best years of my life in Delhi, I love the people and yummy food options. In addition, I find it really interesting that people here make efforts to dress up properly for all occasions and parties.”
