Pretty Pink Please

The trend forecast this season predicts a lot of pink eyeshadow.

Humans have been using makeup to highlight their features for various purposes for as long as one can remember. This is particularly true in the case of lipsticks. Lipsticks in the 1980s, much like everything else was all about shimmers and gloss. Matching your lip colour with your outfit was common and in vogue. Hot pink lips became all the rage keeping up with dance party culture of the era. Ditch the blended eyeshadows and crease contouring and have fun with colours. The trend forecast this season predicts a lot of pink eyeshadow.

How to get the look:

1. Start by applying a lightweight primer followed by a lightweight foundation. Wearing a tinted moisturiser will feel light on your skin. You can combine a small amount of liquid foundation with a small amount of moisturiser. It will thin it out and provide you with a lighter coat.

2. Replace the concealer with a BB cream as it works like a sunscreen, primer and tinted moisturiser.

3. Dewy skin looks gorgeous in summers. To achieve a dewy look on your face, mix your highlighter with foundation, and voila! Highlight your cheekbones and collarbones with this easy-to-make mixture.

4. Skip the smokey eyes this summer for glossy pink lids. Dab a pink gloss of your choice onto the centre of your lids or apply shimmery pink eyeshadow. Finish the eyes with a black liner for an edgier look.

5. Mascaras tends to melt during the summers. An alternative to mascara is eyelash curlers. Curl your lashes as this will make your eyes look bigger.

6. Switch your blush powder with a pink gel liquid blush because the latter is long lasting. To achieve a beautiful suntan, you can use a light shade of bronzer on cheekbones and chin.

7. Replace matte lipsticks for pink lip stains. Lip stains will make your lips shine as you step out in the sun. It’s best to stay away from clear gloss as they can increase the chances of lip burn.
