Brides go bold!
Wedding seasons are all about style, fashion and new trends. From photo shoots and pre-wedding videos to wedding apparel, everything changes from one year to the next.
One such trend that is catching on this year is of brides doing pre-wedding photo shoots in shorts/boxers.
Starting off when a young Sikh bride stepped out dressed in a red choli, dupatta and black boxers, the trend went viral after a video surfaced, showing a bride, Amisha Bhardwaj, dancing on Sia’s Cheap Thrills, and dressed, once again, in a floral choli and shorts.
Shedding light on the trend, fashion blogger Meenakshi Pamnani says, “Gone are the days when brides were expected to be all decked up in make-up and wear only traditional clothes. The video of the bride who danced on Cheap Thrills was really liked by her mother and mother-in-law, which shows that people are also opening up to such trends. And of course, it’s a big and stressful day, and such photo shoots can certainly help the bride to relax.”
Make-up artist Leena Bhushan, who has worked with many brides who have done such shoots, says that it’s all about being trendy and in vogue. “Once a trend goes viral, everyone wants to try it.” Leena also adds that the photo shoots happen immediately after the bride has finished her make-up, so she looks fresh.
“While doing the make-up, we want the brides to be comfortable. So many of them prefer to wear shorts or boxers, and once they are ready, they go for the photo shoots and get a few pictures clicked in shorts,” explains Leena.
