However, draping a midi can become tricky at times. Designer Prerana Sarkar says, “One should be very clever while wearing a midi. It can be draped in many ways. These days, midis’ come either box pleated, gathered at the, waistline with a kali cut or flared. One can wear shorts under a transparent midi with a crop top and boots to enhance the look.” When asked how to work this trend for different occasions, Tanya shared, “If you’re going for a more dressy look, pair your midi skirt with with a tied up shirt. But for work, choose a simple understated top and formal footwear with simple jewellery. A great party look would be to pair you midi skirt with a spaghetti top and strappy heels.”

While experimenting with trends, lookout for the dos and don’ts. Designer Sparsha KP shares, “What you can do is opt for fabric like set pleats, printed skirts, denim or even leather/ faux leather. While wearing midi skirts with flare ensure the top flatters your body and do not wear a baggy top since it adds to the volume.” The key to nailing this trend is keeping it simple and minimal. “You can wear a pendent around the neck or small studs. One can carry a matching clutch or a sling bag. To give a sporty look, wear sneakers with your midi and carry a shoulder bag. A cap will enhance the look,” Prerana signs off.
